Our Programs

With the beginning of a new hockey season we welcome all returning and new players to the Enfield Hockey Associations 2010-2011 season.  This year our programs include Instructional, which is our learn to skate and learn to play hockey teams, ADM, our recreational teams for players of all ages, and Travel, which are our competitive Mite, Squirt, Peewee, and Midgets teams.

The Enfield Hockey Association has provided a place to skate at both the developmental and advance hockey levels for the Northern Connecticut area since 1970.  Boys and girls from surrounding towns including Enfield, East Windsor, Windsor Locks, Granby, Windsor, Somers, Stafford Springs, Suffield, Ellington and Western Massachusetts are invited to the Enfield Twin Rinks to join in the fun of learning to skate and play hockey.

Instructional Program
This program is for new skaters and develops the skills fundamental to the game of hockey in a non-competitive environment.  Fun, physical development, and a sociable environment are stressed.  Girls and boys ages 3 and up are taught to skate by a USA Hockey certified coaching staff.  This program will skate an average of one hour per week on Sunday mornings from 9:20-10:20 AM. For those interested, discounted equipment packages are available which consists of all equipment necessary to start the program.

ADM Program
This program is modeled after USA Hockey's ADM program.  Check back for more information.

Travel Program
For those skaters who have the desire and ability for a competitive experience, the Enfield Hockey Association provides a competitive Travel program.  Our USA Hockey Level 3 to Level 5 certified Coaches continue to teach the fundamental skills skating, passing, shooting and scoring at a higher-level they also teach team concepts like positioning, breakouts, penalty kills and power plays.   All along the way they promote the core values of respect, teamwork, hard work, “doing your best”, sportsmanship and self-esteem.  Players in this program will skate an average of three to four hours per week.  Games are played against other Association's Travel teams.  Travel can range from the greater Springfield area to all of Connecticut.  At the coach's discretion, teams may enter into tournament play, where travel anywhere within New England or Canada may be possible.  Depending upon membership enrollment, there are typically two teams per division.
